As a criticism of current supermarkets, this project is a statement on the loss of traditional markets and to the excessive consumerism of the population in general nowadays.
The concept aims to recover the basic aspects of the traditional Mexican market, as a public space for meeting, social encounters, and interaction. Its location replaces a Costco, an American multinational supermarket which focuses on selling products at low prices, often at very high volume.
Functionally the building is organized in cylinders where just bulk products will be sold, controlling the excessive amount that some products offer and decreasing the waste produced from plastic and paper packaging.
